Cleaning

At age 3, children should begin a schedule of regular cleaning. This is important to ensure that the primary teeth are in a healthy condition and allow the dentist to detect any potential gum problems.

During your visit, the dentist or hygienist will clean the child’s teeth to remove any plaque or calculus. Without treatment, this build up can cause gum disease and tooth decay. We will also treat the teeth with fluoride to strengthen them and make them resistant to tooth decay. Cleanings and fluoride treatments are recommended twice a year to maintain your child’s dental health and prevent decay.
